Therapeutic Riding

Therapeutic riding is a program offered at Wooden Horse Farm to enhance the skills and development of students that are mentally and physically challenged. Lisl services all ages and all types of disabilities. This program improves the lives of individuals with physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities. Lisl Donaldson is a Master Level Instructor with North American Riding for the Handicapped Association and provides optimum quality services.

The program at Wooden Horse Farm include Lisl Donaldson's individually developed program as well as a program run by the local, Weldon Rehabilitation Center.

No matter the type of program, all types of students benefit significantly from the interpersonal relationships and skills built during lessons. Students are also taught basic riding skills and how to behave around horses. Together, these lessons allow students to develop greater social and learning skills.
